Attention: Protecting the health and safety of our students and employees is our top priority. Effective, Tuesday, March 17 requests for prerequisite and corequisite clearances may take longer than usual. Please be patient with us and if you have not been cleared within 3-5 business day of your request, please call our office.

Ventura College is now enforcing class pre- and corequisites. Information for prerequisite and corequisite requirements can be found below as can an explanation of how to challenge a pre- or corequisite. Please note: the information below applies only to Ventura College.

Prerequisites and Corequisites Requirements

A prerequisite is a course that the student is required to complete with a grade of “C’ or better before the student can enroll in the next more advanced course. A corequisite is a course which the student must take at the same time s/he is taking another course.

All prerequisites and co-requisites on course enrollment are strictly enforced at the time of the student’s registration.  All prerequisites and co-requisites are stated in the course descriptions in the college catalog and in the class schedule.
