VC CLASSIFIED PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT CORNER
Committee Charge:
The Classified Senate represents classified professionals: including classified support staff, supervisors, and confidential team members* - in the formation of college and district policy on professional matters and through participation in shared governance. We engage with college administration on the implementation of college and district goals and objectives, and we serve as a vital channel for the collection, evaluation, and sharing of non-bargaining information across the classified ranks.
Classified Senate Goals 2025 - 2026:
1. Continue review and refinement of the Classified Prioritization Process to ensure transparency, effectiveness, and inclusion of classified voices.
2. Strengthen collaboration with the Ventura College Foundation to support and sustain two classified scholarship funds through strategic and streamlined fundraising efforts.
3. Increase visibility and participation in professional development opportunities and events, aiming to foster greater cross-campus community connection and engagement.
