March 19, 2020: Student Engagement & Motivation: This day of events presents a diverse faculty panel ("Working Together to Motivate Students and Increase Student Engagement"); techniques and practice in stress management and self-care; as well as demos of new tech tools such as ZipGrade. Breakfast & Lunch will be provided.
April 13, 2020: Mind Mapping: Learn how to record and organize information in a way that will help you (and your students) better absorb and comprehend the material. Presented by Tom Kavanaugh. Coffee & Pastries will be served.

You might be asking yourself, “Did something change in Canvas?” As Canvas continues to grow worldwide, Instructure has been making updates to the LMS every three weeks. Some changes are intuitive, and some changes might just need a quick demo. Please join us for an overview of the most recent changes to Canvas, review some third party tools that are integrated into Canvas, and ask questions about any updates that you are noticing

Do you have a demonstration that you wish you could record for other students to see and review? Are you trying to increase your online presence in your online and/or hybrid courses? Screencasting is a great way for you to use your favorite software to record an animated lesson for your students. Ideas: Demonstrate a sentence in Word; Explain an excel formula; Explain the purpose of a graph; or Describe a painting from the public domain.

This session will cover five easy (and free) ways to add pizazz to your Canvas content. We will go over free tools for graphic design, sourcing openly licensed high-quality images, ready-to-use templates, and sprinkle in some html snippets to bring your pages and assignments to life. (This session is intended for novice and advanced Canvas users.)
