Thank you for supporting our tutoring team by recommending your students. Your insight helps us identify individuals who demonstrate strong academic skills and ability to support their peers in a positive and supportive learning environment.
To get started, please review the recommendation steps listed and when you are ready, click the button below to submit your recommendation.
1. Identify a qualified student:
- Must have an A or B grade in the relevant course
- Minimum 3.0 GPA
- Must be in good academic standing (does not need to be full-time)
2. Discuss tutoring opportunities with the student:
- Clearly outline qualifications, pay rate ($17.75 per hour for drop-in tutoring and $18.63 per hour for embedded tutoring), and expectations.
- Confirm the student's interest in drop-in tutoring, embedded tutoring, or both.
- Collect their preferred mode(s) of communication (email and/or phone), and 900 number to provide to the tutoring center.
3. Submit your recommendation via the Faculty Recommendation Form*.
- Deadline for all tutor recommendations is Friday, October 30th, 2026
Recommendations submitted after the deadline will still be accepted; however, this delay the tutor's start date.
4. Encourage your student to complete their application after the recommendation is submitted:
- Student Tutors: Submit Student Worker Application, Resume, and Personal Statement.
- Non-Student Tutors: Complete Provisional Employment Application, Resume, and Personal statement, and provide a transcript from the last institution attended.
For recommendations submitted by October 30th, the instructions with the pre-interview documents checklist will be sent out to the candidates between November 2nd and November 5th.
For recommendations submitted after October 30th, please allow five business days to receive checklist email.
