College Communication Councils exist to enable college administrative or organizational units to share information, conduct routine business, and discuss issues of mutual concern. Membership on College Communication Councils is based on one’s assigned, appointed, or elected position at the college.


Administrative Council

Charge:  The Administrative Council serves as a staff meeting and discussion forum for the President, the Vice President of Academic Affairs, the Vice President of Student Affairs, the Vice President of Business Services, the Deans and Assistant Deans and classified Supervisors.  The Academic Senate President and Classified Senate President are invited to participate on the Council for communication purposes.
Chair: College President
Members: College President; Vice President of Academic Affairs; Vice President of Student Affairs; Vice President of Business Services; Deans and Assistant Deans and Classified Supervisors. Guests: Academic Senate President and Classified Senate President.
Meetings: First & Third Wednesday of each month, 9:00 a.m.


Core Student Affairs Leadership Team (C-SALT) and Expanded Student Affairs Leadership Team (E-SALT)

Charge: The purpose of the Core and Expanded Student Affairs Leadership Team is to collaborate effectively in coordinating student services, ensuring alignment with institutional goals, and enhancing student success. By fostering a culture of teamwork, intercultural competence, and shared decision-making, we strive to empower teams through training opportunities that strengthen leadership capabilities and advance continuous improvement. Together, we aim to create a dynamic, responsive, and supportive environment for all students.

Outcomes:

  • Coordinate Strategic Student Services: Ensure alignment and efficient execution of student services operations across departments, driving a unified approach to meeting student needs and advancing institutional priorities.
  • Cultivate a Collaborative Team Environment: Lead efforts in team building to foster collaboration, strengthen intercultural competence, and enhance leadership across all levels of the team, including direct reports.
  • Decision-Making Process: Facilitate a decision-making process that empowers all team members to actively contribute to strategic planning, problem-solving, and initiatives that enhance student success where appropriate.
  • Support Training: Drive continuous professional growth for teams, providing resources, training, and development opportunities that build leadership capacity and improve student service delivery.

Members:  Dean of Student Services, Dean of Student Life, LEAP Dean, Student Service Supervisors
Meetings:  Once a week


Dean and Vice President Council

Charge:  As a senior leadership team representing college divisions, this council includes all Deans and VPs and aims to serve the colleges’ collective interests in service to our employees, students, and community. The goal of the Council is to discuss emerging & timely matters that support the core values, mission, and goals of the college to support its operations and stewardship. At Council meetings we engage in critical conversations as a team and decide upon actions with a collective understanding of conclusions and/or next steps.

Members: Vice Presidents, Deans, Assistant Deans
Meetings: Every Wednesday, 11:30 AM


Department Chair & Coordinator Council

Charge:  The Department Chair and Coordinator Council provides a forum for the discussion of academic issues that affect department chairs, facilitators and coordinators, and makes recommendations to the Administrative Council.

Chair: Designated Dept Chair Co-Chair, Vice President of Academic Affairs
Members:  Vice President of Academic Affairs; Vice President of Student Affairs; department chairs (or vice chairs); coordinators; Academic Senate President (or designee); Deans.
Meetings: Last Tuesday of each month, 3:30 PM


Executive Team

Charge:  The Executive Team Council serves as a staff meeting and discussion forum for the  Presidents and Vice President of Academic Affairs, Vice President of Student Affairs, and Vice President of Business and Administrative Services to share information and conduct routine business. 

Chair:  College President
Members: Vice Presidents
Meetings: Every Monday, 1:00 PM


Safety and Wellness Council

Charge: The Safety & Wellness Group serves as a college advisory body to the Vice President of Business and Administrative Services on campus safety and wellness-related concerns of students, faculty, staff, and visitors in matters pertaining to the campus facilities and environment.

The group:

  • Reviews and updates safety practices and recommends changes as needed.
  • Monitors emerging safety and health issues and reports to management for appropriate resolution.
  • Promotes safety education and the dissemination of health information to the campus community.

Chair: FMO Supervisor or delegate, Student Health Center Advocate or Student Health Center Coordinator
Membership: Campus building monitors, all interested faculty and staff
Meetings: Third Tuesday of the month, 2:00 - 3:30 PM, CCCR
