Video Chat Us | Join the Waiting Room

 

The Admissions & Records Office is now offering online support through Zoom. Through Zoom you can video chat with an Admissions & Records staff member. Zoom will function on any laptop or smart phone. Below are the hours we are available for video chat and specialized Zoom set up instructions by device.

Zoom Video Chat Hours: 

  • Monday: 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM
  • Tuesday: 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM
  • Wednesday: 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM 
  • Thursday: 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM
  • Friday: 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM

 

Zoom Set Up Instructions

Ready to video chat? Select your web browser or phone and follow these steps to set up Zoom.

FIREFOX OR CHROME 

  • To start a video chat click here.
  • If nothing prompts from browser, select “Download and Run Zoom.”
  • Enter your full name as it is written on your Ventura College Student ID and select “Join Meeting.”
  • Click “Join with Computer Audio.”
  • You will join the meeting Waiting Room first. When an Admissions staff member is available they will add you to the meeting.
  • When you join the meeting introduce yourself and let us know how we can help you.
  • You can communicate with us by typing in the chat box or by simply talking.
  • When you are ready to leave the session, click “Leave Session” in the bottom right corner​. 

ANDROID PHONE

  • Download the Zoom app and open it when prompted
  • Select “Sign Up” and follow instructions to create account
  • If you already have an account you can simply enter your email address and password and select “Sign In”
  • Select “Join”
  • To start a video chat enter Meeting ID: 814-528-5935
  • Select “call via device audio”
  • Select microphone and camera symbols at bottom of screen until red lines are gone to start audio and video
  • You will join the meeting Waiting Room first. When an Admissions staff member is available they will add you to the meeting.
  • When you join the meeting introduce yourself and let us know how we can help you.
  • You can communicate with us by typing in the chat box or by simply talking.​
  • Select “Close” if you wish to return to the video screen.
  • When you are ready to leave the session, select “Leave Session.”​ 

iPHONE

  • Download and open the Zoom app from the Apple Store.
  • Select “Join a Meeting”
  • To start a video chat enter Meeting ID: 814-528-5935

Prepare for Your Zoom Meeting

Zoom Video Chat is set up with a waiting room. When you join the appointment, you will join the waiting room first. When an Admissions staff is ready to assist you, they will invite you into the meeting. 

When your meeting starts, be prepared with the items below:

  • Valid Photo ID
  • Introduce yourself to the Admissions staff
  • Have your Ventura College Student ID number ready
  • If you have not been let into the meeting within 10 minutes, give the office a call at (805) 289-6457
