Pathway to law school field trip

Pathway to Law School Field Trip

To facilitate Ventura College’s Pathway to Law School program, we are planning a field trip set for Friday, October 23 at the Ventura County Government Center - Hall of Justice.

This will be an event where students will be able to take a tour of both the Ventura County District Attorney’s and Public Defender’s offices at the Hall of Justice from 10:00 AM-noon and meet both prosecutors and deputy public defenders on the job! After a group lunch at the Hall of Justice cafeteria, we will spend the afternoon and go to a courtroom and meet a judge and tour judge’s chambers to learn from a judge how the courtroom operates.

“Ventura County Criminal Justice Field Trip” in person event on Friday,

October 23 from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM

at the Ventura County Government Center Hall of Justice, 800 South Victoria Avenue, Ventura, California. The plan will be to have students meet with us in front of the north fountain entrance to the Hall of Justice at 10 A.M. on Friday, October 23, 2026 and the entire event will go to about 3 PM.

Please note that there will be no transportation offered to or from the event, so students will arrange their own transportation to this event.

Criminal justice attorneys will be able to meet with several different students and we believe this in person event would be an amazing opportunity for students to learn and connect with legal professionals in the community at the courthouse. Free lunch and great conversation and networking opportunities with attorneys in your community, does it get any better?? If you can attend this event, please RSVP by e-mailing Dr. Marian Nungaray Carrasco at the University Transfer Center or visiting in person to RSVP at the Center.  You can also call 805-289-6411 to RSVP.  We are trying to get a head count for interest in the event, so please do so ASAP and in any event in advance of Monday, October 12.
