About Program
Pursue a Career in Law! The Pathway to Law at Ventura College is part of a statewide 2+2+3 pathway initiative provides a streamlined path to completing the educational requirements to pursue a career in the legal field. As a participant you will get additional academic and financial counseling, become eligible for special consideration and fee waivers when applying to one of the ten partner institutions, receive special recognition as a California LAW Scholar, and gain access to law-related activities! The Program is designed to enhance opportunities and advancement in the legal profession for diverse populations, particularly those who have been historically underrepresented (Chicano/Latino; African American; Native American and Asian American) in the practice of law.
Program Purpose: Established under the auspices of the State Bar of California’s Council on Access and Fairness (COAF), this initiative provides a clear pathway to a law school education for students whose college education begins at Ventura College.
Eligibility: Pathway to Law is open to students pursuing ALL areas of study — there are no major requirements to be able to participate in the program.
