Tech Bar

The Tech Bar is a student-facing service provided by the Learning Center designed to improve students’ confidence and success with the technology required for today’s learning environment. Technology plays an increasingly central role in academic life, and students often encounter barriers that hinder their ability to fully engage with coursework. The Tech Bar aims to reduce these frustrations by offering accessible, hands-on assistance with learning technology. Our mission is to empower students to navigate the evolving digital landscape so they can focus on learning rather than troubleshooting. 

 


 

Services Offered 

The Tech Bar provides drop-in, personalized, ground-level support in the following key areas: 

  1. Device Navigation Support 
    Students receive help understanding and operating their own laptops, tablets, or mobile devices to support academic success. 

  1. Wireless Connectivity Assistance 
    We help students connect their devices to campus Wi-Fi and troubleshoot common connectivity issues. 

  1. Support for College-Owned Devices 
    Students can get assistance with campus-issued Chromebooks, loaned laptops, hotspot devices, and other institutional hardware. 

  1. Guidance Using Required Academic Software 
    The Tech Bar helps students access, and use core tools such as Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, and other course-required platforms. 

  1. A Reliable, In-Person and Virtual Resource 
    Our team provides welcoming, ground-level support for students seeking immediate technical guidance without needing to submit tickets or wait for remote assistance. If you need virtual assistance, please call or email us to request a Zoom link, or we'd be happy to help you over the phone.
