Testing Center Guidelines

• Please complete the Faculty Approval Form at least two working days before the exam is to be taken or as soon as you find out your students need to take a makeup exam.
• When ready, you can email the exam directly to the proctor at vcproctor@vcccd.edu, but it must be at least one day before the exam's scheduled date.
• You can submit one Approval Form for multiple students, but you must approve each student taking a test at the Testing Center.
• Students' requests will not be processed, and appointments will not be scheduled until we receive your Faculty Approval Form.
• Please contact the EAC office if you have a student who needs test accommodations.
• The Testing Center will adhere strictly to your written test instructions and allowed aids.  Please be assured that we have all the information necessary to provide your students with timely and efficient service.

• Complete the Faculty Approval Form according to this timeline:
  • 4-week class: must submit the Faculty Approval form for all exams by week 1
  • 6-week class: must submit the Faculty Approval form for all exams by week 2
  • 12-week class: must submit the Faculty Approval form for all exams by week 3
  • 18-week class: must submit the Faculty Approval form for all exams by week 4
• Following the same timeline above, you must instruct your students to submit their Student Request forms for all exams.
• You can use one Approval Form for multiple exams with multiple deadlines.
• You can use your class CRN instead of students' names and ID numbers.
• Students' appointment requests will not be processed until we receive your Faculty Approval Form.
• If you use a paper version of the exam, please have printed copies delivered to the Testing Center.
• Our staff will not scan and email completed exams back to you, so please arrange to pick them up at the Testing Center.
• Please get in touch with the EAC office if you have a student who needs test accommodations.
• The Testing Center will adhere strictly to your written test instructions and allowed aids.  Please be assured that we have all the information necessary to provide your students with timely and efficient service.

• You must schedule a test appointment before taking the test. We currently do not accept walk-ins.
• To successfully schedule a test appointment, you must submit a Student Request Form at least two working days before the exam is to be taken.
• Arrive 10 minutes before the scheduled appointment to allow time to check-in.
• You will be required to show picture identification to the proctor. If this is an issue, you are encouraged to inform your instructor before the exam day.
• Electronic devices are not allowed in the testing room. The proctor will ask you to store all your computers, tablets, cellphones, smartwatches, and earbuds in the Testing Center storage locker.
• Food and drinks are not allowed in the Testing Center.
• Pens, pencils, scantrons, blue books, or calculators will NOT be provided.  Please come prepared to take your exam. 
• All testing ends PROMPTLY 15 minutes before closing. Please arrive early to allow time to complete the exam. 
• Students needing special test accommodations should inform their instructor and contact the EAC Office to take their make-up exam. 
• Only students scheduled to take exams will be allowed in the Testing Center while exams are in progress.  The Testing Center staff cannot be responsible for children or adults who require care and supervision.
• The Testing Center proctor will adhere strictly to the professor's written instructions. The Testing Center will not administer tests on unauthorized days, allow the use of unauthorized aids, grant extra testing time, allow unauthorized breaks, or allow you to make telephone calls. 

• Please note that any use of unauthorized aids or the appearance of cheating will be cause for ending the test.  The unfinished test will be returned, and the circumstances will be reported to the proper channels.

• Students must schedule an appointment to take the test by submitting a Student Request Form at least two working days before the exam is to be taken.
• Missing a scheduled appointment without notifying the office before the test day will result in a "No Show," and the student will need to come in person to the Testing Center to schedule any future appointments.
• Students must present current and original photo identification to the proctor to take their tests.

• Ventura College Testing Center has zero tolerance for academic dishonesty. If a test taker breaches academic integrity during testing, the proctor will attach an incident report to the exam and send it to the instructor, and the student may be banned from using the Testing Center.

Your photo ID must be: 

•        A current document - expired ID will not be accepted 
•        An original document - a picture or a photocopy of the ID is not acceptable 
•        A recent document - with a recognizable photo that clearly matches the student 
•        You can use any document from the list: State ID card, driver's license, passport, US military card, US military dependent's card, or permanent resident card.
