The Veterinary Technician National Examination (VTNE) is administered by the American Association of Veterinary State Boards (AAVSB). The national examination is taken as part of the process to become a licensed Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT). There is no separate California examination.
For comparison, the average pass rate for first-time candidates at all schools during the same testing period was 67%.
VTNE pass-rate data are reported by calendar year. The results above are for January 1 through December 31, 2025, and represent the most current information available. Calendar year 2026 results will not be available until January 2027.
