Years at Ventura College: 5 years  

Family Life: I am married to my wonderful husband Carlo Almero, and we have our precious son Jeremiah Almero (7 months old)

Hobbies: Cooking and reading books. 

Favorite Food: Filipino and Mexican dishes

Something fun, interesting, and/or unique about you: I like nature, traveling, and listening to motivational podcasts.

Years at Ventura College: 4 months 

Family Life: My family and I love to shop and dine on downtown main street. 

Hobbies:  I enjoy participating in runs like the Great Race, Aut2run, and other random ones that I may be interested in. I enjoy hiking and bike riding with Chumash Trail over by Mugu Rock, my favorite.

Favorite Food: I love to eat in downtown Ventura.

Something fun, interesting, and/or unique about you: A remarkable thing about me would be that I own three birds. Two are Indian Ringnecks (these two can talk), and the other is a Sun Conure.

Years at Ventura College: 3 years                                                                                                  

Family Life: I have an adorable nephew. He is ten years old, intelligent, funny, outgoing, and I love being around him.                                                                            

Hobbies: In my free time, I like to dance salsa and bachata, run by the beach, and spend time with my family and friends. 

Favorite Food: My favorite food is my mom’s chile rellenos.  

Favorite Movie: My favorite tv show is NCIS. 

Favorite Song: Music is a big part of my life, so I try to go to my favorite concerts, dance, sing (I can’t sing), and have a good time.  

Something fun, interesting, and/or unique about you:

I truly enjoy teaching, and I am constantly searching for innovative ways in which I can help my students.

Primary role at the college: Dean of Student Services at Ventura College. Oversee the areas of student support services such as Counseling, CalWORKs, Extended Opportunity Programs and Services (EOPS), Educational Assistance Center (EAC), International Student Services, Student Conduct, and University Transfer Center.

Years of Service: 2 months at Ventura College with 26 years in higher education.

Family: My husband, Jim, and I have been married 26 years. We have two children, Alicia, who recently graduated from UC Santa Barbara with an Environmental Studies degree, and Alex, a Student-Athlete attending Ventura College.                                                                      

Hobbies: I enjoy shopping, watching Netflix, and baking, especially during the holidays.

Favorite Food: I love Mexican food, especially homemade tamales during Christmas!

Favorite Movie: The Sound of Music (musical) and all the Marvel movies.                                

Favorite Song: Anything from Bruno Mars and Michael Bublé

Something fun, interesting, and/or unique about you: I love everything Disney! My family and I have been Disney vacation members for several years. We have enjoyed visiting the Disney World resort parks in Orlando, Hawaii, sailing the seas, and the Run Disney races (well, pre-COVID, of course!)
