Years at Ventura College: 10 years. I played soccer for the pirates Fall 2011-2013. Transferred to UCSB, then came back to finish my nursing degree. 

Family: I live with my partner (who is also a VC alumna/former student athlete. Go pirates!) and our dog in beautiful Ventura.

Hobbies: When not studying, I enjoy spending time with family and relaxing at the beach. 

Favorite Food: Homemade Mexican food.

Something fun, interesting, and/or unique about you: I danced Flamenco in Santa Barbara for 21 years since I was 3 years old and was “Spirit of Fiesta” in 2011.

Family: Don & Chris Haydon (Parents), one brother and sister, three nieces, and one nephew

Hobbies: Golf, cooking, anything sport related

Favorite Food: Smoked pork ribs – Kansas City BBQ sauce on the side

Family: Partner Dave, Grandson Jake, Son Joseph

Something fun, interesting, and/or unique about you: I have visited all the continents, been to Paris 5 times, raised my grandson for the past 4 years.

 

Jesus Vega, Dean of Student Services
Jesus Vega, Deans of Student Services.

Primary Role at the college: I am one of the Deans of Student Services. My primary role is the Dean of Off-Campus Programs and Student Engagement.

Years of Service: I have been with the district for 7 years and I will be with the college for 3 years in February.

Family: I am fortunate that I have a strong wife, Juana, for 19 years and counting. I also have two teenage daughters, Natalia (16 a junior at Foothill Technology), and Sofia (13 an 8th grader at Juan Soria).

Hobbies: Traveling, attending sporting events with my daughters, and amusement parks.

Favorite Food: My favorite food is Chinese.

Favorite Movie:  If you are going to twist my arm on this one, I would have to say The Godfather.

Favorite Song: Me Vale from Mana.

Something fun, interesting, and/or unique about you: At the very young age of 45, I still like to play video games.
