Ventura College is proud to announce that Sharon Coughran, VC Faculty, will be exhibiting her recent paintings, titled, "Solastalgia," on Friday, March 6 from 5-9 pm, at 643 Art Space, 643 N Ventura Avenue, Ventura. All are welcome!
In "Solastalgia," Coughran draws attention to the current geological age, the Anthropocene, as the period during which human activity has been the commanding influence on climate and the environment. Her paintings juxtapose the picturesque across seven continents and the living beings who are in the path of this global phenomenon. They are a call for action and a symbol of hope.
Sharon Coughran teaches studio art and art history at both Ventura College and CSUCI and has exhibited her work nationally and internationally over four decades.
