Purpose
Set Sail is a fun, collaborative event where faculty, classified professionals, and student ambassadors come together to guide students through the steps they need to successfully enroll. Students will receive hands-on support from Admissions & Records, Counseling, Financial Aid, and the Compass Welcome Center. These departments will assist students with:
- Admissions applications
- MyVCCCD portal activation
- Course registration
- Financial aid
Staff Roles
This is an all-hands-on deck event. VC Staff will serve as Navigators. Supervisors & Managers will work with their teams to determine who will be available to serve as a Navigator for this Thursday afternoon event. Navigators play a critical role in this registration event, welcoming guests, and guiding students everywhere they need to go.
Set Sail Experience
Inside the LRC, students can move through different service areas with a pre-registration passport, getting the support they need to complete each step of the registration process.
Set Sail is a day designed for students to take the next step in their college journey while connecting with the people and programs that will help them succeed at Ventura College.
