The Henry Schwab Violin & Viola Competition will take place July 17-18, 2021

  • Two competition Categories
  • Competition entry form is due by April 12, 2021
  • Virtual Preliminary Auditions – April 17 & 18, 2021 via Zoom*
  • Competition Rehearsals - July 15 & 16, 2021
  • Final Competition – July 17 & 18th, 2021
  • Awards to be presented at the Final Competition

*Once student entry form is accepted, contestants will be notified of their audition time and date which will be scheduled by the Coordinator for a Live/Virtual Zoom Audition on April 17th & 18th 

Eligibility requirements to compete as a Soloist in the Henry Schwab Violin & Viola Competition

  • Student age is up to 23 on or before the final competition
  • Must be a registered resident of Ventura County or Santa Barbara County
    • Or currently studying with a Ventura County registered resident, recognized by the HSV&VC board as an established prominent string instructor in Ventura county.
  • Or con-currently enrolled in Schwab Summer Academy of Music on the campus of Ventura College June 17-July 7. All Academy students regardless of their registered resident location are eligible to apply and compete in the competition.
