Background:
Mary has spent the last 17 years as the Coordinator at Oxnard College. Her passion is working with students. She is happy to begin her time at Ventura College this fall-2012.
Becky Anderson, RN
College Nurse
Qualifications:

Background:
Becky Anderson has 20 + years experience as a medical assistant working in a variety of private practices. These include family practice/pediatrics, OB/GYN, and pulmonary/critical care.
Prior to becoming a registered nurse, she worked as a college student health center assistant for a total of 7+ years at both UCSB and Ventura College.
Becky also has 5+ years experience as a RN in an acute care hospital in the medical/surgical/orthopedic/oncology unit. She is a certified chemotherapy/biotherapy provider.

Background:
Brenda has worked as a medical assistant since 1999 in a variety of medical settings. She started working for the Student Health and Psychological Services in November 2007.

Background:
Irma has been a medical assistant since 1999, working in a variety of medical settings. She started working for the Student Health and Psychological Services February 2006.

Beverly Saastamoinen

Background:
Beverly has been a Medical Assistant for 30 years and worked in a variety of medical clinics and hospital settings. She started working for Ventura College Student Health Center January 2007.
Amy Balchum, LCSW
Mental Health Advisor
Qualifications:
-Bacherlor of Arts in Sociology (1976), University of California, Santa Barbara
-Masters Degree in Social Work (1980), San Diego State University
-Licensed Clinical Social Worker (1982), State of California
Background:
Amy Balchum has worked in the field of Social Work in Ventura County since 1980. She worked on an admitting unit at Camarillo State Hospital, supervised children's programs in clinics and schools for Ventura County Behavorial Health and is currently the Executive Director of a non-profit counseling center. Her expertise ranges from mild adjustment problems to serious mental illness, including anxiety, depression, substance abuse and crisis intervention. She has extensive experience with both adults, adolescents and children. She began working for Student Health and Psychological Services in September, 2008 as the Mental Health Advisor and Intern Supervisor. Her responsibilities include recruiting and supervising mental health interns and assisting with the campus crisis intervention team.
Cheryl Lambing, M.D.
Director of the Student Health Center, Specializing in Family Practice

Background:
Dr. Lambing has been serving as a Ventura County Medical Center faculty member since 1994. Her special interests include rheumatology, osteoporosis and women's health. Dr. Lambing speaks nationally on these topics and lectures for the American Academy of Family Physicians and serves on national education panels. Dr. Lambing serves as the Director of the Family Care Center at Ventura County Medical Center, Assistant Clinical Professor at University of California, Los Angeles, in addition to, serving as Medical Director, specializing in Family Practice, for the Student Health Center at Ventura College.
