Attention New Students! Before you meet with a counselor you must complete your On-line orientation and Assessments.

Located in the Student Services Center (SSC), the Ventura College Counseling Office is open days and evenings for counseling appointments and drop-by counseling. Our dynamic counselors can assist you with academic, career, transfer, or personal counseling. Counseling Services provides a variety of resources to help you achieve the greatest possible benefit from your college experience.

Student Counseling Workshops

If you are a new student and have not completed college level courses at another institution, you must attend a group counseling workshop. Watch for dates to take place prior to the start of the next semester.

Workshops cover how to select courses, general education requirements, and tips on making your semester a successful one. Call to reserve your spot (805) 289-6448.

Drop-by Counseling

To better serve you, Drop-In Counseling is limited to 5 to 10 minutes and includes the following services:

  • Answers to questions regarding academic programs and certificates
  • Academic Overload Petitions
  • High unit major exceptions
  • Course repetition requests
  • CSU and IGETC certifications without external transcripts
  • One semester Ed Plans

If you require additional services you will need to schedule a 30-minute appointment by calling (805) 289-6448 or visiting the counseling information desk.

Drop-in counseling times are subject to change and will end 30 minutes before closing.
