Desire2Learn is the campus wide course management system that is used at Ventura College in live web enhanced classes, partially online courses, and online courses. There are two types of technical orientations for students, and these are the Self Paced Tutorial and the Live D2L Student Orientation. The Spring Online Student Orientation opens on December 1, 2015.
Option 1 - Self Paced Tutorial Online: A self paced online tutorial is ideal for the student who is familiar with online instruction and/or has great computer skills already. Students can take this course from any computer that has access to the Internet, and it is available 24/7. Once you are logged into the D2L system you will see the self registration button for the self paced course in the menu system on top of the home page. The preferred web browser to use with D2L is Mozilla Firefox, Apple's Safari, or Google's Chrome as those are well tested.
To Sign Up for the Online Orientation follow these steps.
Option 2 - The Live D2L Student Orientation: Live technical orientations for Desire2Learn will be held during the following times for the Spring 2016 Sessions. This orientation is designed for students who are new to distance education classes at Ventura College or who are in need of a refresher course of Desire2Learn basics. All D2L Live student orientations will be held in the LRC Training Studio which is located behind the BEACH, Learning Center, in the basement of the Library and Learning Resource Center.
