Campus Clubs and Organizations
Alpha Gamma Sigma (AGS)- (Honor Society)
The purpose of the organization is to foster, promote and maintain, and recognize scholarship; to develop programs offering cultural, social, or enrichment experiences as part of the total experience of the college; to promote service to the college and the community; and the development of leadership, character and judgment.
Cultural Anthropology
The general purpose of the club is to incite and generate interest in the subject of Anthropology. Activities and programs are planned each semester based on student interest.
Extended Opportunity Program and Services Student Association (EOPSSA)
To assist eligible students in the success and continuance of their education, to sponsor cultural activities, and to raise funds for emergency grants to assist eligible students not receiving funds through the EOPS Program.
Latter Day Saints, Student Association (LDSSA)
Established to help students attending Ventura College to have a balanced secular and spiritual educational experience during their years of formal education.
Movimiento Estudiante CHicano de Aztlan (MEChA)
This club promotes an understanding of the Mexican culture, promotes cultural diversity, serves Ventura College and the community at large, and serves as a support group for students. The organization unites students of Mexican descent along with other students and attempts to improve their educational, economic, political, and social situation.
Patriots For 21st Century Academia (PF21CA)
Our mission is to become fluent in the language of politics and U.S. government, as it applies to the academic environment. To facilitate a learning environment that develops our members’ full potential in diverse approaches to the political decision-making process, and teaches them how to set or alter these processes.
Pre-Med Society
Aids students in planning their futures in various medical and health related fields. Activities include: meetings, professional guest speakers, field trips and assistance in preparation for graduate school.
Psychology
Assists students with an interest in Psychology and related social sciences. Provides opportunities through guest speakers, field trips, social activities, etc.
Society for the Advancement of Chicanos and Native Americans in Science (SACNAS)
The campus SACNAS is the Ventura College chapter of the larger organization. The purpose is to encourage, promote, and assist Chicanos and Native Americans in the sciences.
Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE)
Provides a linkage to the national organization SHPE, a group of professional engineers wanting to serve as role models in the Hispanic community. Assists students in engineering and related majors.
Success Through Diversity
Promotes the educational and vocational potential of students with disabilities by enhancing their total integration into the mainstream of college life.
