Ventura College Promise Program
The Ventura College Promise (VC Promise) helps eligible students attend Ventura College by covering enrollment and selected mandatory fees during their first two years of college.
Important Information
- The VC Promise Program only covers courses taken at Ventura College.
- Units taken at Oxnard College or Moorpark College do not count toward VC Promise eligibility requirements and are not covered by the program.
- Students must meet all eligibility and academic requirements each year to remain in the program.
Fees Covered by the VC Promise
The VC Promise Program covers the following fees:
- Enrollment Fee
- Health Fee
- Student Center Fee
- Student Representation Fee

Maintaining Your VC Promise Eligibility
To continue receiving VC Promise benefits, you must:
- Submit a FAFSA or CADAA every academic year.
- Remain enrolled in at least 12 Ventura College units during both the Fall and Spring semesters.
- Maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher.
- Successfully complete at least 67% of all attempted units.
Loss of Eligibility
You may lose your VC Promise eligibility if you:
- Enroll in fewer than 12 Ventura College units during Fall or Spring.
- Fail to maintain a 2.0 cumulative GPA.
- Fail to complete at least 67% of attempted units.
- Do not submit a FAFSA or CADAA for the academic year.
Understanding Unit Completion
For VC Promise purposes, all enrolled units are considered attempted units, including courses that are dropped or withdrawn after the refund period.
Grades That Count as Completed Units
The following grades count as successfully completed coursework:
- A
- B
- C
- D
- P (Pass)
- CR (Credit)
- CRE (Credit by Examination)
Grades That Do Not Count as Completed Units
The following grades do not count as successfully completed coursework:
- F (Fail)
- I (Incomplete)
- IP (In Progress)
- W (Withdrawal)
- EW (Excused Withdrawal)
- MW (Military Withdrawal)
- NC (No Credit)
- NP (No Pass)
- RD (Record Delayed)
Important: Grades such as W, EW, MW, I, and F are still considered attempted units when calculating your completion rate.
