About the English as a Second Language (ESL) program:
The all new academic English as a Second Language program at Ventura College helps limited-English-proficient students improve language skills for work, college courses and for life in the community. Classes are designed to develop proficieny in writing, grammar, reading, vocabulary and oral communication. Students enjoy meeting people from around the world and making lifelong friends. In a short time students will feel confident in their English language skill to pursue their academic anc career goals. Classes are interesting, challenging and fun!

New! English for Multilingual Students (EngM):
EngM 50A/B Vocational Readin
g and Writing and EngM 51A/B Academic Writing and Grammar are designed for students who speak other languages besides English. These multilingual students may not consider themselves ESL yet they have challenges with English grammar, writing and reading comprehension. The courses are also for advanced ESL students who plan to further their education, such as obtain a certificate, Associates Degree or transfer to a university.
