Student Government
Welcome!
Students participate in student life at the college in two major areas: through shared governance and in college activities. Within each area, students can select from a wide spectrum of experiences. At Ventura College, we encourage students to participate in campus shared governance through the Associated Students of Ventura College Board. ASVC members play important roles in the decision-making processes of the college while assuming major responsibility for coordinating student activities and expressing student concerns and interests to the college. ASVC meetings are held each week on Tuesday, generally at 12:30 p.m., in the Campus Center Conference room in the B Building. Students also have the opportunity and are encouraged to participate as members of the college's advisory committees, councils and boards. Student Elections for ASVC Board members are held during each Spring Semester. Students may be selected at other times of the year by the ASVC Board to fill vacancies.
Who We Are
We are the Associated Students of Ventura College. We are students who have been elected or appointed to serve Ventura College at large. The student government consists of seven elected members of the cabinet, eight appointed members, and club representatives. The elected positions include ASVC officers and senators. The officers participate in committees, and each campus club has a representative with voting rights on the Board. ASVC is the voice of the students at Ventura College.
