Steps to Enroll

Ready to achieve your educational goals? Follow these steps to begin.

APPLY

  • Apply for admissions to Ventura College

  • Activate your MyVCCCD student portal after your acceptance email is received

  • Apply for Financial Aid or California Dream Act

  • Veteran Students using GI Bill® benefits: Apply for benefits

    • If you have any questions regarding VA benefits, contact the VA office at (888) 442-4551

    • VA office hours are Monday through Friday 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM (central time)
  • Veteran Students not using GI Bill® benefits: Apply for the Veteran's Promise Program
  • Active Duty Students using Tuition Assistance:   Apply for TA at your local installation education center  

ORIENTATION & ASSESSMENT

  • Complete the orientation online through your MyVCCCD Portal under the MySuccess Tab

  • Submit official high school or college transcripts to Admissions & Records

  • Visit Assessment for the latest English & math placement information 

  • Dream Act Students  Submit a completed  AB 540 Affidavit  to Admissions & Records for evaluation 

  • All Veteran or Active Duty Students:   Show your DD214 or Military ID to Admissions & Records   

    • Veteran Students using GI Bill ®  benefits:   Submit your Certificate of Eligibility to Admissions & Records  

    • Active Duty Students using Tuition Assistance:   Submit your TA approval to the Student Business Office  

PLAN YOUR CLASSES

  • Schedule an appointment with the Veteran's academic counselor to develop a 1st semester educational  plan

  • Transfer Students: Request an external coursework evaluation during your counseling meeting 

  • Clear prerequisites

  • Follow up with counseling to talk about your educational goals and develop a comprehensive Student Education Plan (SEP)

REGISTER

  • Register for classes through your MyVCCCD portal under the Register/Pay tab

  • Check financial aid awards through your MyVCCCD portal under the Financial Aid tab 

  • Pay fees (if no award is listed) or set up a payment plan

    • Veteran Students using GI Bill ®  benefits:  Speak to Admission & Records prior to paying any fees 

    • Active Duty Students using Tuition Assistance:  Speak to the Student Business Office prior to paying any fees
