ASVC offers opportunities to:

ASVC positions are a one-year commitment, running from June 1st to May 31st, with bi-weekly meetings, five weekly office hours, and programming responsibilities to actively contribute to campus life.

What is ASVC?
The Associated Students of Ventura College (ASVC) serves as the voice of the student body and works to enhance the student experience on campus. As the student government organization, ASVC promotes leadership, advocacy, and community engagement while addressing the needs and concerns of students.
What Does ASVC Do?
- Offers Leadership Opportunities: Provides students with chances to grow as leaders, develop professional skills, and create meaningful change on campus.
- Governs the Ventura College Student Body: Oversees policies, initiatives, and decisions that impact the student experience.
- Advocates on Behalf of Students: Ensures student voices are heard in college and district decision-making processes, while promoting inclusivity and equity.
- Promotes Civic Engagement: Encourages students to use their voices through advocacy, voter education, and participation in democratic processes.
- Organizes Events and Activities: Plans campus events, collaborates with student clubs, and creates a vibrant and inclusive community.

Eligibility Requirements
To apply for open positions or run in student elections, you must meet the following qualifications:
- Be at least 18 years of age prior to assuming office.
- Maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher.
- Be currently enrolled in a minimum of 5 units at Ventura College.

Looking for a more flexible way to get involved on campus? The ASVC Crew is a volunteer opportunity where students can jump in and support as their schedule allows. Crew members assist ASVC in their campus efforts through event planning, advocacy, student feedback, and participatory governance. It is a great way to meet new people, build leadership skills, and make your voice heard at Ventura College.

2025-2026 ASVC Board of Directors
Got her Associates in Sociology from Ventura College, her Bachelor's in Sociology At UCSB, and her Masters in Post Secondary Administration and Student Affairs At USC.
Fun Fact: Jessica has created her own matcha bar at home, complete with all the essentials.
As ASVC Advisor, Jessica Perez provides guidance, support, and mentorship to the ASVC Board of Directors and student leaders at Ventura College. Jessica works closely with the Board to ensure compliance with college and district policies, offering expertise on governance, student engagement, and organizational procedures. She also assists with planning and coordinating events, programs, and initiatives that enhance student experience while fostering leadership development.
Jessica serves as a bridge between students and college administration, helping to ensure that student voices are heard and valued in decision-making processes across campus.
Major: Business Administration
Fun Fact: Kamea enjoys going to concerts in her free time.
As President, Kamea serves as the official spokesperson for ASVC and the broader Ventura College student body, acting as the primary liaison between students and the college and district administration. Kamea presides over all ASVC Board of Directors meetings, preparing weekly agendas and overseeing meeting operations. The President is responsible for the executive functions of the Board, ensuring that all orders, sanctions, and resolutions are carried out effectively and efficiently.
Kamea also represents the student perspective at the VCCCD Board of Trustees (BoT) and Academic Senate.
Major: Communications
Fun Fact: Briana loves fashion and collects every month's new vogue magazine.
As ASVC Vice President, Briana oversees the appointment of Board members to college committees and monitors committee and meeting attendance. Briana reviews letters of intent for vacant Board positions and assists in hiring student staff. She also manages the internal administrative duties of the ASVC Board of Directors, serves as Vice Chair of the Inter-Club Council, and is a voting member of the ASVC Programming Committee.
Major: Pre-Med
Fun Fact: Whether it’s a quick weekday dinner or a gourmet feast, Angel loves bringing flavors to life in the kitchen.
As ASVC Director of Administration, Angel is responsible for maintaining accurate records of all ASVC Board of Directors' meetings, including agendas, minutes, and attendance. Angel ensures that official documents are properly filed and accessible, supporting transparency and accountability within the organization. The Director of Administration also assists with coordinating internal communications, managing office operations, and supporting the overall efficiency of the Board.
Angel also represents the student's perspective on the District Council for Enrollment Management.
Major: Accounting
Fun Fact: Zyanya loves transforming looks through creative hair color.
As ASVC Director of Finance, Zyanya is responsible for managing the financial operations of the ASVC Board of Directors. Zyanya oversees the preparation and maintenance of the ASVC budget, tracks expenditures, and ensures that all financial transactions align with district and college policies. The Director of Finance also presents financial reports at Board meetings, providing transparency and accountability in the use of student funds.
Zyanya also represents the student's perspective on the Budget and Resource Committee.
Major: Political Science
Fun Fact: Hadleigh can solve a rubix cube in one minute and 30 seconds.
As ASVC Director of External Affairs, Hadleigh is responsible for fostering relationships between Ventura College students and the broader community. Hadleigh coordinates ASVC’s involvement in districtwide and statewide student government activities, ensuring Ventura College students are represented at all levels. The Director of External Affairs also manages communication with external organizations, advocates for student interests in legislative matters, and promotes civic engagement and outreach initiatives.
Hadleigh also represents the student's perspective on the Student Senate of the California Community Colleges (SSCC) and other regional or statewide student leadership forums, strengthening collaboration and advocacy beyond the campus community. She also sits on the SSCCC Legislative Affairs Committee.
Major: Sociology
Fun Fact: From ages 5 to 10, Nevaeh performed as a hula dancer.
As ASVC Director of Equity & Inclusion, Nevaeh is responsible for promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion within Ventura College’s student community. Nevaeh advocates for underrepresented student voices, ensuring equitable access to campus resources and opportunities. The Director of Equity & Inclusion develops initiatives and programs that foster a welcoming and inclusive campus climate while collaborating with student organizations and campus departments to advance social justice and cultural awareness.
Nevaeh also represents the student's perspective on the Diversity and Culture Taskforce and the Student Equity and Achievement (SEA) Committee, supporting efforts to create a more inclusive and equitable educational environment at Ventura College.
Major: Clinical Psychology
Fun Fact: Kimberley has danced for over 10 years with a few different dance exhibition/ competition teams in the 805 area.
As ASVC Director of Student Clubs & Organizations, Kimberley is responsible for supporting and overseeing all Ventura College student clubs and organizations. Kimberley facilitates the club registration and renewal process, ensures compliance with ASVC and college policies, and provides guidance to club leaders to help them plan successful events and activities. The Director of Student Clubs & Organizations also chairs the Inter-Club Council (ICC), fostering collaboration and communication among the diverse student organizations on campus.

Major: Political Science, Law and Public Policy, Pre-Law
Fun Fact: Kevin loves learning about different cultures and is Fluent in three languages Spanish, English, and Italian.
As ASVC Director of Public Relations, Kevin is responsible for managing ASVC’s communications, marketing, and outreach efforts. Kevin promotes ASVC initiatives, events, and services through digital media, print materials, and campus outreach to ensure students stay informed and engaged. The Director of Public Relations also oversees ASVC’s social media presence, designs promotional content, and maintains consistent branding across all communication platforms.
Kevin also represents the student's perspective on the Marketing and Outreach Committee and College Planning Committee, collaborating with college departments to enhance student awareness, participation, and connection within the Ventura College community.
Major: Biology, Pre-Nursing
Fun Fact: Alessia enjoys music, plays two instruments, and writes/composes her own music.
As ASVC Director of Events and Activities, Alessia is responsible for planning, organizing, and executing campus events that foster student engagement and school spirit at Ventura College. Alessia works closely with the ASVC student life office to coordinate a wide range of activities, from cultural celebrations and awareness of events to social gatherings and campus traditions. The Director of Events and Activities ensures that all events are inclusive, well-organized, and align with ASVC’s mission to enhance the student experience.
Alessia also represents the student's perspective on the Safety and Wellness Committee and collaborates with the Office of Student Activities to develop programs that promote community, inclusion, and active participation across campus.
Major: Biology
Fun Fact: Lupe has been involved in cheer since she was 6 years old.
As ASVC Director of Community Relations, Lupe is responsible for building and maintaining strong connections between Ventura College students and the surrounding community. Lupe coordinates volunteer opportunities, service projects, and partnerships with local organizations to encourage civic engagement and community involvement among students. The Director of Community Relations also leads ASVC Crew to enhance outreach efforts and support student-led initiatives that benefit the greater Ventura area.
Lupe represents the student perspective on the District Council of Student Services, which works with campus departments to expand service-learning opportunities and strengthen Ventura College’s community experience.

Fun Fact: Ally is currently engaging in an internship with the United Farm Workers Foundation (UFW).
As ASVC Director of East Campus, Ally is responsible for representing and advocating the students at Ventura College’s East Campus. Ally ensures that East Campus students’ needs and perspectives are communicated to the ASVC Board of Directors and college administration. The Director of East Campus also coordinates events, programs, and initiatives specifically for East Campus students, fostering engagement, inclusion, and a strong campus community.
Ally also represents the student's perspective on relevant college committees and collaborates with faculty, staff, and student leaders to enhance the East Campus student experience.
Major: Mechanical Engineering
Fun Fact: Anthony is a Student Pilot.
As ASVC Director of Athletics Liaison, Anthony is responsible for serving as the primary connection between Ventura College’s student-athletes and the ASVC Board of Directors. Anthony advocates for the needs and interests of student-athletes, ensuring their perspectives are represented in campus decision-making. The Director of Athletics Liaison also coordinates support for athletic events, promotes student engagement in sports programs, and facilitates communication between athletics teams and the broader student body.
Anthony also represents the student-athlete perspective on relevant college committees and the Facilities Oversight Group (FOG). He works collaboratively with coaches, staff, and fellow Board members to enhance the overall student-athlete experience at Ventura College.
The ASVC board consists of eight elected and four appointed student positions. The eight Executive positions are elected annually by the Student Body through the Student Elections and Procedures. The Executive Committee, therefore, appoints the rest of the Board and all serve a year long term.

President
The President serves as the chief executive officer of ASVC, overseeing board activities, representing the student body in college governance, and advocating for student interests at all levels.
Vice President
The Vice President supports the President and oversees the Office of Internal Affairs, ensuring smooth operations within ASVC. This role is also responsible for planning a semesterly public forum, providing students with an opportunity to voice concerns, ask questions, and engage in open dialogue with ASVC leadership.
Director of Administration
The Director of Administration manages meeting agendas, minutes, and board documentation, ensuring all ASVC activities are organized and well-documented.
Director of Finance
The Director of Finance manages ASVC’s budget, oversees financial records, and ensures appropriate allocation of funds to benefit the student body. This position also sits on the Ventura College Budget and Resources Committee, providing input on budgetary decisions that impact students.
Director of External Affairs
The Director of External Affairs represents ASVC at regional, state, and national meetings, including serving as the SSCCC (Student Senate for California Community Colleges) student delegate. This position advocates for Ventura College students on broader issues and fosters connections with other community college organizations.
Director of Student Clubs and Organizations
This director supports all student clubs and organizations by managing club registrations, funding requests, and coordinating Inter-Club Council meetings.
Director of Equity and Inclusion
The Director of Equity and Inclusion promotes a welcoming and inclusive campus environment by addressing equity-related issues. This role takes the lead on planning identity month programming, advancing initiatives tied to Ventura College’s Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI) designation, and fostering a culture of diversity and inclusion.
Director of East Campus
The Director of East Campus advocates for and creates programming that supports the unique needs of East Campus students. This position works to strengthen connections between East and Main Campus, ensuring that East Campus students feel heard, engaged, and supported.
Director of Public Relations
The Public Relations Officer manages ASVC’s communications, including social media, marketing, and outreach, to keep students informed and engaged.
Director of Community Relations
The Community Relations Officer strengthens partnerships between Ventura College and the local community by promoting student engagement in community events and initiatives.
Director of Events and Activities
The Events and Activities Officer plays a vital role in creating engaging campus experiences. This position is responsible for maintaining an updated volunteer sign-up list, assisting with campus event planning, and coordinating vendor setup to ensure successful events that foster student engagement and school spirit.
Director of Athletics Liaison
The Athletics Liaison Officer serves as the connection between ASVC and Ventura College’s athletic programs, promoting collaboration and support for student-athletes.
