The Child Development Program prepares students for an associate degree in Child Development or for completion of certificates of achievement in Preschool, Infant/Toddler or School Age Child Care, Family Child Care Provider Certificate, and the Child Development Permit levels of Assistant, Associate Teacher, Teacher, Master Teacher, Site Supervisor and Program Director. Students develop knowledge of subject matter and skills needed for success in transferring to a college or university as well as success in a variety of vocational areas.

The Child Development Permit Matrix is issued through the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing.
CD V61 students supported the Ventura County Rescue Mission’s Lighthouse emergency shelter for women and children as the focus of their advocacy project by transporting donations to the mission. They have been participating in a donation drive for the past few weeks.
