Lunchtime Concert With The Fortuna Wind Quintet

The Laurel Project's second concert will feature the return of the Fortuna Wind Quintet. This ensemble is formed by Ventura College faculty members Kimaree Gilad on oboe, Nick Akdag on bassoon, and Jon Titmus on horn, joined by guest artists Suzanne Duffy on flute and Sarra Hey on clarinet. In honor of the college’s centennial, the program will highlight works of a similar vintage, including Carl Nielsen’s Wind Quintet, Op. 43 – a piece written 102 years ago. The ensemble will also perform Gordon Jacob’s Wind Quintet No. 2. Presented as part of The Laurel Project: Faculty & Guest Artist Concert Series
