WINTER CONCERT PRESENTED BY VENTURA COLLEGE CHOIR
The Ventura College Chorus and Singers will present their Winter Concert on Friday, December 10 at 7:00 p.m. in the San Buenaventura Mission, 211 East Main Street, Ventura.
The 60-voice choir, directed by Elizabeth Helms, will present choral masterpieces from many eras in a program designed for the magnificent acoustics of the SanBuenaventura Mission. The concert includes two settings of “O Magnum Mysterium” (“O Great Mystery”), one by Spanish Renaissance master Tomas Luis de Vittoria, and another modern setting by Grammy winning USC professor Morten Lauridsen. The choir will also perform “Laudate Dominum” by Arthur Honegger from his Christmas Cantate, “How Can I Keep from Singing,” an arrangement of a Quaker hymn tune, and pieces by the women’s and men’s choirs. Also performing will be a women’s trio composed of sisters Alyssa, Elaina, and Leanna Crenshaw. Accompaniment will be provided by Vincent Dominguez and Kyle Tarrats.
A suggested donation of $5 is requested. For information, contact ehelms@vcccd.edu, or call 654-6309.
