Ventura College Has Opportunity to acquire 120-year-old Southeast Asian Sculpture of Quan Yin
VENTURA: Art History Instructor Ann Bittl has arranged for the 120 year old Southeast Asian sculpture of Quan Yin to grace the Student Services Center courtyard. Quan Yin is one of the most universally beloved of deities in the Buddhist tradition. Also known as Kuan Yin, Quan'Am (Vietnam), Kannon (Japan), and Kanin (Bali), she is the embodiment of compassionate loving kindness. As the Bodhisattva of Compassion, she hears the cries of all beings. Donations to assist with the $850 purchase and transportation cost for Quan Yin are being accepted through the Art Muse.
