PLAY SYNOPSIS: Merton Gill wants to be a movie actor like Holden Studio's leading man, Harold Parmalee, or their leading actress, exotic Sasha Petrovna -- the Russian seductress who breaks men's hearts. These are real artists, or so Merton thinks, who have influenced Merton's high standards for film acting. Merton lives in Simsbury, Illinois, and is a store clerk at Gashwiler's General Store. That's a long way from Hollywood and his dream. One night Mr. Gashwiler has had enough of Merton's acting out his movie fantasies with his store dummies and gives him an ultimatum -- no more movie actor-playing. He must stop going to the movies, or he will have to get another job. Merton decides to go with the movies. He quits and leaves for Hollywood, which proves tougher than he anticipated. But, a spunky young stunt-girl takes pity on him and decides to help him out, and she helps him right into the kind of films he loathes -- slapstick comedies. Complications ensue.
VENTURA COLLEGE CAST: Aly Bennett, Kevin Bass, Morgan Bozarth, Michael Davis, James Fraker, Dillon Francis, Alyssa Grant, Eric McGowan, Evan Proffer, Dan Saad, Jordan Shockley, Christopher Tgnacia, Toby Tropper, and Sasha Zimnitsky.
