CAPS-TV and Ventura Family YMCA to offer
Week-long Digital Video Camp for Kids in grades 6th through 8th
July 30th through August 3rd
Community Access Partners of San Buenaventura or commonly known as CAPS-TV has teamed up with the Ventura Family YMCA to offer a week-long day camp where kids in grades 6th through 8th will learn digital video production, scriptwriting, non-linear editing and more. All the knowledge they will need to start creating their own digital productions.
CAMP CAPS will utilize the CAPS-TV media resource center at 65 Day Road in Ventura which offers a safe environment, excellent equipment and top-notch professional instructors and counselors to make CAMP CAPS the best time a kid will have all summer. CAMP CAPS will operate 9am to 5pm, July 30th through August 3rd.
Kids will learn not only the basics of digital filmmaking but how they can create their own short movies, music videos or whatever else they can dream up for school projects, web placement or just for fun. Once they learn the basics, campers will be placed in teams and will utilize their new knowledge to create a short media project – from script to screen – and at the end of the week those projects will premier on CAPS-TV Channel 6, available to cable subscribers in the City of Ventura.
Cost for the camp is $220 per camper and reservations and payments are to be made through the Ventura Family YMCA.
