| VENTURA COLLEGE LEADER RECEIVES STATE AWARD
Ventura College performance improvement specialist Luann Swanberg received the Statewide Excellence in Leadership Award from the California Community College Association of Occupational Educators (CCCAOE) at its March state conference. The organization’s purpose is to provide leadership for occupational education and economic development professionals involved in workforce development and the enhancement of California's position within a global economy.
Ms. Swanberg was recognized for her role in chairing the Healthcare Action Partnership, an advisory group for the Workforce Investment Board, which brings together educators and employers to find solutions to common problems. In addition, Ms. Swanberg serves as Coordinator for the South Central Regional Consortium, consisting of community colleges from San Luis Obispo, Ventura, Santa Barbara, and Los Angeles counties. The consortium brings together faculty, managers, and staff from a variety of disciplines to share resources and develop programs for career and technical education. For many years, Ms. Swanberg brought her skills to provide training for employers through the Ventura College Institute for Community and Professional Development. |
