Ventura College, California Lutheran University and CSU Channel Islands are partnering with Ventura County organizations, community professionals and students to discuss the issues in the 2008 presidential election. Each post-debate discussion forum will feature delegates who will share their convention experience, local university faculty who will provide a framework for understanding the issues, and political science majors who want to be a part of this once-in-a-lifetime event.
The events will be held at the following locales on the respective dates:
Ventura College, Fireside Lounge, Cafeteria Building – Friday, September 26, hosted by MECHA student organization
California Lutheran University, The HUB - Tuesday, October 7
CSU, Channel Islands, location on campus to be announced – Wednesday, October 15
Each forum will present the scheduled presidential debates, which will be live 6 p.m. Pacific Time, followed by three briefs from panelists and then an open-mic discussion.
Many local citizens may be sitting on the political fence regarding the November general election and this forum will give women, students and the average working American the opportunity to let their voice be heard.
The community is invited to join this discussion at the table of American politics at a college campus near you. Participate in history in the making as the 2008 presidential debates take place in this unprecedented run for the White House. This event is non-partisan.##### |
