Ventura College Community Education is now taking registrations for the fall semester, featuring a wide variety of short-term classes, seminars, and workshops designed for busy adults who desire professional development as well as personal enjoyment.
New, professional development classes include LEED Green Associate Exam Preparation and Energy Auditor Training for BPI (Building Performance Institute) Certification. These classes are designed for individuals in the fields of construction, design, inspection, contracting, and utilities who want to enhance their job skills in the area of green technology in the shortest period of time.
Other new career development courses include EKG Technician Training, Breaking Into Article Writing as a Career, How to Start Your Own Pet Sitting Business, and The Art and Business of Music for individuals who want to learn mixing, promotion, talent booking, and all other aspects of the music business. The Art and Business of Music is conducted entirely online.
Personal enjoyment classes include Recorder Chorus for Beginners, Beginning Ukulele, History of the Fire Service in Ventura County, Compassionate Communication, The Music of Spain, Beginning Portuguese for Fun and Travel, Afro-Brazilian Drumming, How to Succeed in College and Beyond, and many others.
Community Education classes are completely self-supporting with student fees and do not confer college credits.
