“NATIONAL WOMEN’S HISTORY MONTH” ACTIVITIES
The Ventura College Women’s Concerns Council is pleased to announce activities for National Women’s History Month, all of which will be held on the Ventura College campus. The public is invited, and all events are free. There is a parking fee of $1 for members of the public attending campus events.Monday, March 12, 10:30 a.m. –11:50 a.m. –

Film: “The Pill”, Margaret Sanger’s History of Birth Control, in Guthrie Hall.
Friday, March 16, 11:30 a.m. – 12:20 a.m.,
“The Realities of Domestic Violence”, various speakers, in Room X-3.
Monday, March 19, 10:30 a.m. – 11:20 a.m.,
“Birth Control Methods,” with speakers from the Ventura County Public Health Agency, in Room UV-2.
Tuesday, March 20, 7:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.,
“Collage Night”, Hosted by the VC Breast Cancer Education and Advocacy Group, in the LRC
Wednesday, March 21, 11:30 a.m. – 12:20 p.m.,
“Women Awakening: Global Impact of Gender” presentation and lecture by Angela Kirwin, relief worker and VC Student in Guthrie Hall. Ms. Kirwin will speak on helping impoverished women gain economic self-sufficiency through micro-loans in India, and entrepreneurial projects in Thailand and Tanzania.
Wednesday, March 21, 5:30 p.m.,
“Archaeology in Action: Revealing Ventura’s Story,” a presentation and lecture by Tracy Long, Historic Preservation Committee of the City of San Buenaventura, in LRC-205. This event is also hosted by the VC Anthropology Department and the Ventura College Arts and Lecture Series.

Ventura College Theatre: “One Woman Who is Making a Difference,” Keynote Address, Cindy Sheehan, Peace Activist. Ms. Sheehan shares her journey from grieving mother to peace activist.
