VENTURA COLLEGE JAZZ BAND PRESENTS ITS SPRING CONCERT

On Thursday, May 5, 2011, the 15-member Ventura College Jazz Band, directed by Leslie Drayton, will present its Spring concert, “A Salute to the Blues and its Variations.” The concert is a culmination of the semester’s work and will feature a variety of selections that are representative of the Blues genre and its influences in American Music. This concert will also feature performances by guest artists that include alumni, music industry veterans, and a surprise newcomer to the jazz scene at Ventura College. The performance will begin at 8:00 p.m. on May 5, 2011 and will take place in Ventura College’s Guthrie Hall. Dancers are welcome. Tickets are $10 general admission, $5 for students w/ID, seniors and staff. |
