VC ART STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP FUNDRAISER
VENTURA: Ventura College’s Friends of the Arts is having its Tenth Anniversary invitational and membership exhibit/sale to benefit the VC Art Student Scholarship Fund. The “Small Wonders” show will run from November 28 through December 12 at Ventura College New Media Gallery. Artists showing include many current and past Ventura College art faculty. The artworks are small in size and reasonably priced.
The opening artists’ reception will be hosted Tuesday, November 28, from 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. in front of the New Media Gallery on the Ventura College campus. The winners of the 2006-2007 Friends of the Arts Awards will be announced at the reception. The public is invited, parking is free and there is no admission charge. Light refreshments will be served, and this year’s Scholarship winners will be announced. All sales from this art show will support the art students at Ventura College and the VC Art Department.
VC Friends of the Arts, working with the VC Foundation Office, is a not-for-profit club designed to raise scholarship funds for students majoring in the arts at Ventura College. Membership includes professional artists from the community, present/past faculty and alumni of Ventura College. Any interested persons are welcome to join.
The students winning art scholarships are, in alphabetical order:
Sarah Cox (Camarillo), Marisa Garcia, Mindy Keller (Ventura), Meghan Koch, Adam Martinez (Ventura), Noelle Timmons (Ventura) and Sivonna A. West.
