Basics
Full Name: Ventura College
Location: The 112 acre-campus with ocean views is set in the rolling hills of Ventura, conveniently located 60 miles north of Los Angeles and 30 miles south of Santa Barbara.
Affiliation: Ventura College is one of three colleges in the Ventura County Community College District and one of 110 California Community Colleges that comprise the largest
college system in the world.Accreditation: Ventura College is fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges, an institutional accrediting body recognized by the Council on Post-Secondary Accrediting and the U.S. Department of Education.
Mission: The mission of Ventura College is: to offer academic and vocational programs leading to the completion of associate degrees or certificates; to prepare students to transfer to four-year colleges and universities; to provide remediation to those who need to improve their basic skills; to support the state and region’s economic viability through workforce development; and to provide continuing education opportunities that enhance personal growth and life enrichment.
The college serves high school graduates and others who are able to benefit from the academic and vocational opportunities it offers. Courses are provided using both traditional and distance learning delivery systems.
The faculty and staff of Ventura College are committed to student success and strive to create an environment of continuous improvement through the establishment of measurable and/or observable student learning outcomes that can be used to assess student performance, improve instructional and service delivery, and guide institutional decision-making.

Academics
Programs Offered: Associate of Arts and Associate of Sciences Degrees in more than 40 areas of study, with Certificates of Achievement and Completion in more than 50 areas of study. Enrollment Fees: $26 per unit for California residents, plus the required health, materials and student center fees.
Transfer Agreements with: CSUCI, CSUN, UC Davis, UC Santa Barbara, and UC Santa Cruz.
K-12 Students: Can earn dual credit (both in high school and college credit) through our Middle College High School program.

Intercollegiate Sports
• 18 Intercollegiate Sports for Men and Women. Including: Basketball, Tennis, Swimming, Water Polo, Softball, Soccer, Football, Track and Field, Tennis, and Volleyball.VC also has a national champion Cheer Team.
• A member of the Western State Conference and the California League of Community Colleges/Commission on Athletics. (COA)
Other Highlights
• Financial Aid and Child Care available for those who qualify.
• Health services at the Health Center and on-campus accident insurance for those who pay their mandatory health fee or receive a fee waiver.
• Free drop-in, group and individual, tutorial services to students attending VC.
• A plethora of scholarships available through the VC Foundation, including the Ventura College Promise (a program that pays first-year enrollment fees for all recent Ventura County high school graduates).
• The Educational Assistance Center (EAC) offers a variety of services to students with disabilities, including specialized academic, vocational, and personal counseling.
• The Extended Opportunity Programs and Services provide additional programs and services to the regular educational programs of the college and is designed to assist educationally and economically disadvantage students to be successful in their educational program at Ventura College.
• Career advisement is offered day and evening by a trained staff to help students gather information and explore options about career choices. Career planning involves decisions about educational goals as well as career objectives.
• Has articulated more courses with the California State University and University of California under the California Articulation Number System (CAN) that any other college of it’s size in the state.
