Generally, students attending Ventura College
can complete all necessary transfer requirements for admission
to four-year colleges or
universities, including general education requirements and courses
required in preparation for their selected majors. Ventura College
courses have been articulated
as comparable to or acceptable
in lieu of the required lower division major courses specified
in the catalogs of the transfer institutions. Some majors, specifically
those requiring mathematics and/or natural sciences, demand adequate
high school preparation to enable a student to transfer in a
timely manner.

Use ASSIST
ASSIST is a computerized transfer information
system that can be accessed over the Internet. ASSIST displays
how course credits earned at one California college or university
can be
applied when transferred to another. It provides the most accurate
and up-to-date articulation for California’s public colleges
and universities. ASSIST is available at www.assist.org
.
In addition to major requirements, Ventura College students can satisfy general education or breadth requirements, as defined by the four-year college or university, in preparation for transfer. These requirements are listed in the Ventura College Catalog for selected institutions. With careful planning, students who attend Ventura College can satisfy all requirements for admission to baccalaureate degree-granting institutions.
Admission to colleges or universities involves completion of several requirements and varies throughout the different systems (University of California, California State University, and Independents). Consult a counselor.
