Telecourse Orientation
Ventura College's telecourse program offers degree courses on television
that are the same in content as a traditional college course, except that
students learn at home from television programs, textbooks, case studies
and study guides rather than from on-campus classes.
The courses are broadcast on KCET with select broadcasts CAPS the Ventura
broadcast studio. A listing of the courses offered will appear in the
regularly published schedule of classes each semester. The prerequisites,
tuition, course credit and enrollment process are the same as they are
for other college degree courses. Students enrolled in a telecourse are
required to attend an orientation session on campus at the beginning of
each semester, where they receive the television viewing schedule, class
information and exam schedules. During the semester, students will come
on campus periodically for review sessions, tests, and the final exam.
