Smoke and Tobacco Free Campus

Ventura College will be a Smoke and Tobacco Free Campus effective June 1, 2017.  We will join many other college campuses that have taken this step to provide a smoke and tobacco free environment to promote a well-educated mind and a healthy body.  Ventura College has received a grant from the CA Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office to provide resources to support implementation.

This initiative was proposed by the Safety and Wellness Committee and college wide input was received through surveys and discussions.

A soft roll out is planned during the Student Success Days on March 1st and 2nd, during the Holistic Health Fair on April 5th, and the Diversity in Culture Festival April 12th and 13th.

The Smoke and Tobacco Free Work Group includes members representing students, classified staff, faculty, and administration.  They have done a great job of establishing an implementation plan including how to provide support for students and employees.  Implementation will not involve penalties.  Thank you for helping us create a Smoke and Tobacco Free Campus.
