Academic Senate Goals

Academic Senate Adopted Goals, 2011-2012 

Shared governance:

            ● More collaborative efforts in communication among faculty and administration

            ● Protect our role in the curricular process

            ● Work to establish a culture that holds our peers accountable, and are pulling our weight in committees  and other duties

Program Review, Planning, and Discontinuance:

             ● Work with admin to maintain all current academic and service programs in a fiscally responsible way

Student Services:

             ● Suggest revisions for new fee nonpayment drop procedure

Mission:

            ● Defend the comprehensiveness of our college

Student Learning Outcomes:

            ● Develop an automated system whereby SLO process is self-running 

Other Academic Matters:

             ● Move forward with academic calendar recommendations

NOTE: Suggestions for Senate Goals collected at the first Senate meeting on Sept 1. Goals were transcriped and organized by Vice-President Cari Lange. The entire list was presented at the second regularly-scheduled Senate meeting on Sept 15 at which time these eight goals were formally adopted by the Senate.
