Tips to Spend Less Time in Line

All documents must be complete before getting in line, INCLUDING YOUR COUNSELOR'S CERTIFICATION. This means all signatures, all fields filled out, and no blanks. If something doesn't apply, put a 0. If your Counselor's Certification does not have the TOTAL # OF REMEDIAL UNITS IT WILL BE RETURNED TO YOU FOR COMPLETION.
If we requested your parents' tax return IT MUST BE SIGNED ON THE SECOND PAGE OF THE 1040. Also the 1040 must include ALL SCHEDULES AND WORKSHEETS. If you're not sure what to copy, bring us the original and we'll make the copy for you.
If you are NOT 24, do NOT have kids (or other dependents you support), are NOT married, are NOT a veteran, are NOT an orphan (or ward of the court), you are a DEPENDENT STUDENT REGARDLESS OF WHERE YOU LIVE OR YOUR TAX FILING STATUS and must list parents' income AND parent's signature on the FAFSA.
If you have an AA/AS DEGREE or above, you will need to APPEAL. TALK TO US BEFORE YOU MEET WITH YOUR COUNSELOR. Your appeal MUST INCLUDE the Counselor's Certification.
If you register for classes and have NOT done your FAFSA or a BOGW APPLICATION you must PAY FOR CLASSES OR YOU WILL BE DROPPED from all your classes. After the BOGW application is approved, the registration fees you paid will be refunded.
IF YOU ARE APPROVED FOR A BOGW APPLICATION BE SURE YOU CHECK ONLINE (or with the Student Business Office) a day after submitting, to ensure it took effect and you no longer owe registration fees.
Yes, you still have time to submit the FAFSA and BOGW application; be aware that the process (for FAFSA) will be delayed.
8. If you are checking your status, be aware it takes at least 6-8 weeks to process your paperwork AFTER you submitted it to our office. If it hasn't been at least that long, we're still processing your file.
