You must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, commonly know as the FAFSA. The FAFSA is available on the internet at www.fafsa.ed.govFAFSA forms are also available at all colleges, universities, and high schools across the nation. Use Ventura College's Title IV Federal School Code (above) 001334 to enter in Step Six on your FAFSA. Do not submit your FAFSA directly to our office, but either submit it electronically over the Internet (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED) or mail your FAFSA form to the Federal Student Aid Programs using the envelope provided in the FAFSA booklet.
Step Two
If contacted by the Financial Aid Office, you must submit all
additionally requested documents to complete your file as soon as
possible. Documents requested may include, but are not limited to:
signed copy of your (and parents, if required) federal tax return, W-2
forms and proof of other untaxed income or benefits. Do not submit
documents to our office unless we request them.
Depending on your application, additional items may be required from
you. Items might include: copy of your college academic transcripts
from all previously attended colleges; Ability-To-Benefit test if you are a non-high school graduate; proof of registration with Selective Service;
letter of clearance for a defaulted student loan; a copy of your social
security card or Immigration and Naturalization Services
documentation; etc. Forms will be mailed to you from our office. If you
misplace them or need extras forms.
Step Three
We will determine your eligibility for financial aid based upon a review of your documentation once your file is complete. At that point, we will send you an offer of financial aid called an Award Letter.
PLEASE NOTE:
You are expected to have resources available for the purchase of
books as financial aid checks are delayed until after the start of
each semester.
