Legislation (AB 1646) has recently passed that EXCLUDES the health fee from being waived for BOGW recipients. You will be responsible for paying the Health Fee beginning Spring 2006.
Fee Waiver for Hurricane Katrina Victims
If you were enrolled in a regionally accredited institution of higher
learning in Alabama, Louisiana or Mississippi as of August 29, 2005,
see us about having your fees waived. The State of California has
passed AB 1646, which allows us to waive your fees, provided certain
conditions are met. Documentation must be provided to verify enrollment
in those States as of August 29, 2005.
Last day to add a Fall 2006 full-semester class: September 1, 2006. NO REVISIONS WILL BE MADE TO YOUR FINANCIAL AID AWARD(S) AFTER THAT TIME.
Applications for Cal Grants are available in the information rack
outside the Financial Aid Office, with a deadline of September 2, 2006.
For high school students applying for Fall 2007 the application
submission deadline is March 2, 2007.
Okay, so you dread the idea of having to stand in line in front of the Financial Aid Office. Here are some Tips for Spending Less Time in Line.
If you have recently changed your name (due to marriage, divorce, etc.) submit an official name change with the Social Security Administration immediately. Their process will take approximately one month to complete. Your financial aid cannot be determined until your name change is completed by the Social Security Administration.
