2009-2010 VENTURA COLLEGE LOAN PROCESS FOR RETURNING LOAN BORROWERS

UPDATED PROCESS

This process is for students who attended a Federal Stafford Loan Entrance Counseling session at Ventura College during the 2008-2009 academic year.  *Please note, if you did not borrow or attend a session during the 2008-2009 academic year, you will need to complete an online loan entrance session (refer to the New Borrower instructions). 

1. Complete the Student Loan Request Statement (available on our website or in our office), PRINT THE DOCUMENT and return it to our office.

2. Your loan(s) will then be certified and transmitted electronically to the guarantor. If you are using the same lender from the 2008-2009, you will not be required to sign a new Master Promissory Note (MPN). However, if you are changing lenders or your lender is no longer participating in Federal Family Education Loan Program you will be required to sign a new MPN on the OpenNet website: https://opennet.salliemae.com/apploansummary/?school_00133400

 3. The lender will then approve the disbursement and mail you loan funds to Ventura College. You will receive an email (Check Release Notice) from our office authorizing you to pick-up you loan check at the Ventura College Student Business Office.
