Assistive Computer Technology (ACT) are software and hardware tools which can often provide equal access to computer resources for persons with disabilities

    3.  How does ACT work?

ACT provides alternatives to the basic ways in which students interact with computers, including typing at the keyboard, seeing the computer screen, and reading the content of the screen.

    4.  How do you gain access to ACT computers?

Through the Mainstream Computer Program, a student must first become certified to use one of many computers located throughout the campus. A student can receive a certification card by taking certification classes or learning the ACT independently.

Mainstream computers can be found in the Science Building, the Business Department, the Library, and the High Tech Center.
