Certification Card

How do you get certified for using Mainstream computers?

  • See a counselor in the Educational Assistance Center (EAC) located in the FL building or Steve Turner in J-5 to find out which assistive technology is right for you.
  • Learn about your choice of assistive technology through an Assistive Computer Technology (ACT) class or through independent research.
  • Upon demonstrating proficiency in using the assistive technology, you will receive a card (see Figure 1 below) that allows you use of Mainstream computers anywhere on campus.
  • Mainstream computers are available in the Library, the Business Department, the Science Building and The Learning Center and once certified, may be requested in a classroom.
