English for Multilingual Students (EngM)

About the English for Multilingual Students Program: 

The new English for Multilingual Students (EngM) courses at Ventura College have been designed for students who speak other languages besides English. These multilingual students may not consider themselves ESL yet they have challenges with reading comprehension, English grammar, and writing skills. The courses are also for advanced ESL students who are planning to further their education, such as obtain a certificate, Associates Degree or transfer to a university. The focus of the courses is to refine reading, writing, and study skills needed for success in college.

 EngM Courses offered:

• EngM 50A/B - College Prep Vocational Reading and Writing (3 units)
• EngM 51A/B - College Prep Writing and Grammar (3 units)
