ESL Faculty

I completed my studies at UCLA and UCSB. I have a Masters in Education; Credential as a Reading/Language Arts Specialist; Life-Time Credential in K-14; and I am a Certified Teacher of English for Students of Other Languages.  I have over 25 years of experience teaching Kindergarten through University levels and designed and taught work-place programs for students of other languages.

My hobbies include hiking, nature, reading and baking.

I have been teaching ESL since 1984. During that time, I have taught all levels from literacy to TOEFL preparation. Since I enjoy travel, I taught English as a Foreign Language in Taiwan and China.  Besides being a language teacher, I am a language student. I studied Spanish while living with host families in Mexico and Spain. 

The whole world of second language teaching and learning is fascinating and enjoyable. Fore me, ESL teaching is the best job in the world.

I migrated to the USA when I was 12 years old. I attended school in Fillmore and learned English. I share with the students the experience of learning English and wanting to improve our lives.

I enjoy the students' smiles, curiosity, appreciation and achievment. I have taught ESL for 35 years.
